Steven and Brenda's Succah, built in 2004

"I wanted to send you a copy of these pictures from our sukkah, built from your plans. The entire project took my wife and myself about 4 or 5 hours to do. Great plans! Thanks."
-- Brenda and Steven (E-Mail, Oct, 2004)

This year (2002), the start of Succot coincided with the Fall Fling, an annual weekend campout for members of the Philadelphia Folksong Society. So, I brought my succah and assembled it there Friday afternoon. That evening, we and our friends had a beautiful Shabbat dinner in the succah. On Saturday, I conducted a "Succot Workshop", explaining the holiday and the construction of the succah. One highlight was instructing the attendees on how to pronounce "s'chach".
Here's a Slide Show of the event!

Cindy's succah, built in 2001

"I got your design and instructions from the web and built the sukkah. I was able to do all the prep work and all the pre-drilling, and then had 15 friends come and erect the sukkah together last night. It was a total success. Everything went together beautifully, everyone was able to help with the final bolting, and the spirit that was created as all these people came together and saw this amazing structure come together was truly awesome." -- Cindy (E-Mail, Oct, 2001)

[Note: Assembly doesn't require 15 friends, but it sure is more fun that way! -- Gary]

Jerry's succah, built in 2002

"My son and I, along with help from my 3 year grandson, assembled the succah this past weekend. We did it a little early since they live about 2 1/2 hours north, Scranton, PA and had to work it into our two schedules. I precut and assembled the plywood connectors here in Philadelphia area before going. I guess it took a total of 4 hours to drill the bolt holes and assemble. We all had fun! I'm attaching two files, one a composite showing construction and the other of the finished project. Thanks for your help!" -- Jerry (E-Mail, Sep, 2002)

Take a look at the wonderful sequence of pictures of three generations of Jerry's family working on the construction from start to finish!
